Main approach is via Phantom Canyon, which can be delimitated as Lower and Upper sub-areas because of this side canyon's main demarcation formed by a waterfall about three miles upstream from the North Kaibab Trail. First find your way to Phantom Ranch via the Bright Angel, South or North Kaibab Trails. Phantom Canyon is the beautiful and prominent drainage northwest of this extremely popular backcountry destination Upper Phantom includes all the summits accessed from above the cozy waterfall camp. This includes Buddha and Isis Temples, Cheops Plateau and Schellbach Butte. Climbing Shiva Temple from here is also possible, but it would be more involved than from the standard Tiyo Point route. Utilize the Utah Flats route or slog upstream through the lower gorge. It's also possible to descend from near Tiyo Point if one is ambitious enough.
